Description
This is a virtual tour of Historic Jamestownes Glasshouse, a re-creation of a glass-making facility established by the Virginia Company of London in 1608. Eight Dutchmen and Poles, some of them skilled in the art of glassmaking, were imported to the new colony to produce glass, pitch, tar, soap ash, and potash, the last two used in making glass. The Glasshouse was the first English manufacturing site in America.
