Description
This photograph, probably taken in 1920, shows one of the early buildings at the Virginia Theological Seminary and College (later Virginia University of Lynchburg), a black Baptist college founded by the Virginia Baptist State Convention. Founded in 1886, the school opened for classes in 1890 under the name Virginia Seminary. Citation: Papers of Anne Spencer and the Spencer Family, 1829, 1864-2007. Accession 14204.
