Five resolutions by Patrick Henry, written in response to the Stamp Act and presented by him to the House of Burgesses on May 29-30, 1765, attack Parliaments claim of authority to tax America. In the final, most controversial resolution Henry wrote that the General Assembly has the exclusive power to tax Virginians.
