The image has horsedrawn wagons in front of the school with the school on a hill and Lexington off the the right side with mountains in the background. The signatures on the corner margin, purportedly J. E. Johnston, L. Polk, Edward A. Pollard, R. E. Lee, and T. J. Jackson, are not authentic and were added at some point to try to enhance the value of the picture. [2000.187]
