About the Task Force
On May 17, 2017, Governor Terry McAuliffe signed HB 2296 directing Virginia Humanities to organize a statewide task force that would work to better identify and promote Virginia's African American historical sites and cultural heritage resources. The bill was patroned by Delegate Delores McQuinn and unanimously passed by the General Assembly.
