Description
Charles W. Baldwin of Company G, 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, is the subject of this ambrotype portrait with gold-colored framing around the image. Baldwin enlisted in the Union army on December 12, 1861, in New York City, and was killed on August 30, 1862, at the Second Battle of Manassas.
