Description
Sir Edward Coke, chief justice of the Kings Bench from 1613 to 1616, is the subject of this 1741 line engraving by Jacobus Houbraken of Holland. Houbraken created depictions of famous historical figures for a publication titled The Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britain, which was produced in London between 1743 and 1752.
