This list shows the names of the enslaved men and women executed for taking part in the Nat Turner reolvt of 1831, along with the date each one was hanged, and the name of each slaves master. This is a detail from a page in a contemporary account of the revolt, Authentic and Impartial Narrative of the Tragical Scene which was Witnessed in Southampton County (Virginia) on Monday the 22nd of August Last, When Fifty-five of its Inhabitants (Mostly Women and Children) were Inhumanly Massacred by the Blacks! (1831). The book was written by Samuel Warner.
