Description
A ticket for a seat on the Richmond and Danville Railroad issued on March 29, 1865, during the last days of the Civil War, bears the signature of a Confederate official. Less than two weeks later, Confederate general Robert E. Lee would surrender his troops at Appomattox. This ticket was kept by Corporal Thomas Colley, Co.
