Description
Although this analysis has as its base the progressive development of presidential foreign policy leadership; it specifically examines the perspectives of three contemporary presidencies: William Jefferson Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack H. Obama. Using as a foundation the precedents established by the Founding Fathers; both the Federalist Papers and the Constitution are used as guides for understanding emergency leadership in the context of the Post-Cold War and Post 9/11 eras. An essential part of the analysis is devoted to presenting an interdisciplinary examination of the economic, social, cultural and political dynamics of foreign policy interpretation. By providing a comparative analysis of the missions, strategies and goals of the most recent presidents; this research provides a foundation not only for the examination of President Obama's foreign policy agenda but for understanding the progressive and developmental aspects and components of foreign policy formation and implementation. Concluding with a contextual examination of the effect of Presidential leadership on African-American foreign policy perspectives and national security, the study provides a gateway to understanding the complexities of a global society.
