Description

An 1874 map drawn by Lyman Copeland Draper, a historian of the American Revolution, details the battlefield at Point Pleasant as it looked on October 10, 1774. Draper shows the location of Fort Blair at the confluence of the Ohio and Kanawha rivers, along with topographical features and some estimations of distances between points. Draper compiled a nearly exhaustive collection of primary documents related to Dunmore’s War, which was later compiled and published by editors Reuben Gold Thwaites and Louise Phelps Kellogg as the Documentary History of Dunmore’s War 1774 (1905).
