<p>Norvel LaFallette Ray Lee poses with his many boxing trophies alongside his Howard University boxing coach, Samuel Barnes, for an article in the February 1951 issue of <em>Ebony Magazine</em>. Barnes, like Lee, had served in WWII and later pursued a career in athletics. At the time of the photograph Lee had won 49 out of 54 boxing matches since he left the army in 1947.</p>
