<p>Two fish markets, City Market and Bibb’s Fish & Poultry Market, are the subject of this 1969 painting by Charlottesville artist Doris Collins. During and after the City of Charlottesville’s razing of the Vinegar Hill neighborhood, Collins painted a series of works commemorating the once vibrant Black community. This painting depicts a portion of West Main Street.</p>
