A night photograph of the Grottoes Fire department loading into two fire trucks, while a steam engine puffing smoke roars past in the background. This was one of Link’s most successful staged nighttime photographs. The men in the picture are, from left to right: Claude Spitzer, Howard Dean, Donaol Waters, Charles Stickley, Austin Kibly, Frank Becks, and Henry Hoffman.
