Locomotive 104 Taking on Water, Bristol, 1955

A variation of this image was used in O. Winston Link’s 1994 art book <i>Steam Steel & Stars</i>. This photograph shows a man refilling a train with water from a water tower, while a worker lubricates the drive wheels of the engine in the foreground. The photograph shows the size and power of a steam engine, the two men working on it look tiny, almost hard to see in comparison.
