Description
"American Magic: The Transformations of British and Irish Folktales in North America" is a study of British-American Märchen (magic tales). This work is both a reconstructive history of storytelling as actually performed in mountain communities and a contrapuntal history of ways in which Appalachian and Ozark folktales have been represented by editors and performers in broader public arenas.
