Charles J. Faulkner, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from western Virginia, is the subject of this photograph published inMcClees Gallery of Photographic Portraits of the Senators, Representatives & Delegates of the Thirty-Fifth Congress (1859). Faulkner signed the photograph in ink. Faulkner represented western Virginia in the House of Representatives (1851-1859), and then served as a member from West Virginia (1875-1877) after its creation as a state.
