Description
On July 7, 1919, President Woodrow Wilson and his wife, Edith Bolling Galt Wilson, pose with American servicemen wounded during World War I on board the SS George Washington. The president was returning to the United States after signing the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919. The day after this photograph was taken, the former troopship arrived in New York harbor.
