Description
The title page of Life of the Rev. Devereux Jarratt (1840), an abridged edition of Jarratts 1806 autobiography, bears an image of a simple two-story church flanked by trees. The Reverend William Meade, assistant Episcopal bishop of the Diocese of Virginia, edited this version of Jarratts autobiography. The title page is signed by General John Hartwell Cocke of Fluvanna County; he probably owned this copy of the book. Citation: Life of the Rev. Devereux Jarratt.
