John Lamb, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the Third Congressional District in Virginia, sits for a portrait by the Washington, D.C. photographic firm of Harris & Ewing. Lamb, a former Confederate captain who had been wounded severely during the war, served as a Congressman from 1897 unitl 1913 and eventually became chairman of the Committee on Agriculture.
