Jimmie Rodgers sings Sleep, Baby, Sleep in this 1927 recording made in the mountain town of Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee. A field unit from the Victor Talking Machine Company in Camden, New Jersey, had come to the mountain town to record musicians from the region. This was one of the first recordings made of Rodgers, who would later become a counry music legend.
