Description
A year long, statewide project designed to bring the perspective of the
humanities to bear on issues of interest to all working Virginians. The AFL-CIO plans several local meetings, six regional public issue forums, and two statewide conferences to involve humanities scholars and Virginia's working men and women in a mutually beneficial dialogue. The topics of discussion include the energy crisis, labor in the South, business failures and government aid, personal attitudes toward work, and labor history. The project is considered "unique... one of the first of its kind in the nation" and has the enthusiastic support of the AFL-CIO. |
