This monument at the intersection of P Street, Oakwood Avenue, and Chimborazo Boulevard in Richmond honors James S. Christian Jr.—a pilot during World War II and the Korean War, a member of the House of Delegates, a postman, a parishioner at the Fourth Baptist Church, and a member of the Richmond Crusade for Voters, an African American political organization.
