Description
Two-day program on family, neighborhoods, and churches of Lower Tidewater (Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk). Sponsor hopes to stimulate interest in family history and provoke discussion and reflection on role of family life in contenporary society. Speakers explore role of institutional religion in people's lives and uniaue character of Lower Tidewater's ethnic neiqhborhoods. By inviting h. s. students to complete projects on one of themes, hope to involve them. Excellent humanities speakers helped to establish corrmunity college as continuing focus of cultural activity. 1981-1982
