Description
An uncut sheet of a dozen illustrated cards depicts the journey of an enslaved man who flees plantation life, joins the Union army, and dies on the battlefield in the struggle for liberty. These antislavery prints have been attributed to Philadelpia lithographer James Fuller Queen, who based them on drawings by the well-known illustrator Henry Louis Stephens.
