Description
A one-day conference considering ethical, legal, and medical perspectives on patient rights. After each of 3 addresses the guest speakers and local humanists will lead discussion sections with health care professionals and the general public. Humanities fields include: philosophy, anthropology, jurisprudence, and psychology. Ministers, attorneys, the director of a medical center, the director of a nursing school, and many health care professionals will take part. Eastern Virginia is planning for 200 participants drawn from a cross-section of the community with all socio-economic levels represented to attend the conference.
