A page from a pamphlet issued by the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), Bethel Heroes Chapter No. 636 in North Carolina lists the programs for their meetings on January 5, 1922, and February 2, 1922. Each meeting opened with a prayer and then followed with the reading of historical papers that featured Confederate heroes. The February 2 meeting included taking up a collection for a monument memorializing Jefferson Davis.
