Conference Highland Settlers: Scottish Highland Immigrants in North America on November 6, 7 and 8, 2003, at the University of Richmond. The conference is timed to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the publication of the book Highland Settler, by Dr. Charles Dunn of the Harvard Celtic Department. Scottish Studies remains an underdeveloped field in North America, and this conference, with its focus on the cultural and literary legacy of the Scottish Highland immigrant community, will be the first of its kind in the United States.
