Description
Oral history training and collection, a public forum, and planning for an exhibit on the history of African Americans in the Roanoke Valley. Historians will train community volunteers in techniques of oral history and the information gained will be desseminated through a public forum and, ultimately, through an interpretive exhibit. The project will encourage and enhance further study of the Black experience in Appalachia.
