Description
A photograph taken in the spring of 1877 depicts J. H. Dillard, standing at top right, the numeral two written next to him. Dillard received a law degree from Washington and Lee University that year while also teaching mathematics there. Michael Miley, a Lexington photographer, took the group photo, which probably depicts Hardys fellow classmates or faculty members. Citation: Dillard Family Papers, 1717-1964, Accession #9498.
