Description
This project focuses on the local history of the African American community in western Prince William County, Virginia during the postbellum period of American history. This region continues to have descendants that can trace their roots to the first settlements held as property of white men or as free people of color. Locally, there is a desire within the African American community to fill the void and have their story told.
