Description
This is a cropped version of Timothy H. OSullivans panoramic view of 1860s Fredericksburg from the east side of the Rappahannock River. Church spires tower over the town and the Alexander and Gibbs tobacco factory can be seen at lower left, on the bank of the river. In 1861, Confederate forces used the tobacco factory as a hospital.
