Description
A great books synposium for selected senior citizens fran the Lynchburg area.
Themes for the discussions include: Nature of Man, Tyranny and Freedom, Faith and Morals; Science, Technoloqy and Society. Participants will be provided with selecticns fran the classics and attend morning lectures and atternoon discussions with faculty menbers. Outside evaluator saw this senior symposium as a culmnination of the college's strong conmitment to liberal educaticn. Program challenged faculty to risk experimentaicn in unfamiliar fields. Program stuck to its belief that the big ideas are best gotten at throogh the "great Books," and it prevailed. |
