In 1693, Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer made this hand-drawn map of Northampton and Accomack counties—known collectively as the Eastern Shore of Virginia—as well as part of Somerset County in Maryland. This map gives a detailed rendering of the many creeks and rivers in the region, as well as the outlying islands.
