The Reverend Lawrence Campbell, pastor of the Bible Way Church in Danville, leads a spirited call-and-response during a mass meeting held outside his church in this news video from WDBJ Television in Roanoke. Speakers testified of their violent experiences with the police, and the meeting ended with the crowd singing We Shall Overcome. The church was the site of a number of rallies during the Danville civil rights demonstrations of 1963.
