Crozet: The Claudius Crozet Story
Claudius Crozet was a decorated artillery officer
under Napoleon and a pioneer in the development of
railroads in America
He was head of the engineering department at the U.S.
Military Academy at West Point, a principal founder of the
Virginia Military Institute, president of Jefferson College at
Convent Louisiana, chief engineer of Virginia and
Louisiana, principal of Richmond Academy, and a math book author. He was best known as the builder of the "impossible" Blue Ridge Tunnel at Rockfish Gap, in Afton, Virginia, which was, at the the time, the longest tunnel, by far, in the world .
Come with us as we reveal even more about this great engineer whom some called a genius.
