Description
Three two-day sessions incorporating lectures, panels, and seminars on biomedical
ethics will be held in Lynchburg. A fourth session will be held at the Kennedy Center for Bio-Medical Ethics in Washington. Humanities scholars in philosophy, religious studies, and medical ethics will discuss selected moral issues raised by dramatic advances in bio-medical technology. They will speak on "The Contribution of the Humanities to Bioethical Problems, of the '80's," "Ethical Aspects of Death and Dying," and "Public Policy Implications of Various Concepts of Health and Sickness," in ea.ch of the major addresses. All keynote lectures will be broadcast over the Lynchburg FM station and the public TV station in Harrisonburg. |
