Contemporary Poets of the Southern Mountains
This literary lecture and discussion series will explore the work of five contemporary poets of the southern mountains. All programs will be held in the auditorium of Dalton/Cantrell Hall on the MECC campus. Each program will begin at 12:15 p.m.
March 9: Ms. Rita Quillen, author of October Dusk and Looking for Native Ground: Contemporary Appalachian Poetry: Keynote Address.
March 16: Dr. Donald Johnson (East Tennessee State University) on Fred Chappell.
March 30: Dr. Daniel Leidig (Emory and Henry College) on Jeff Daniel Marion.
April 13: Dr. John Lang (Emory and Henry College) on Jim Wayne Miller.
April 27: Dr. Richard Peake (Clinch Valley College) on James Still.
