ck if Alan photoed this get details from Drury Wellford Kepi belonging to Captain George Gaston Otey Otey from Lynchburg; Captain of the Otey Battery, which he organized in Richmond; under command of General Heth Wounded in battle of Lewisburg, West VA on May 23, 1862; died from his wounds in Oct 1862 entered VMI 1851, resigned and became a merchant; early on he was a member of the Richmond Howitzers under command of George Randolph; went to Charlestown West VA after John Brown raid He later formed the Otey Battery which was separate from the Richmond Howitzers.
