Brooklyn Bridge—looking from Brooklyn toward old New York, U.S.A.

A 1901 stereograph shows a view of New York harbor and lower Manhattan from Brooklyn. The bridges completion in 1883 allowed for the first time access to Manhattan by means other than water, strengthening Brooklyns ties to the city of New York. It became a borough in 1898.
