Description
This humorous bumper sticker celebrates the success of Secretariat, the thoroughbred that won the Triple Crown (the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes) in 1973. Secretariat was born and raised at the Meadow, in Caroline County, a horse farm established by Christopher T. Chenery and later run by his daughter Helen Bates Penny Chenery Tweedy. This bumper sticker is contained in an album of photographs taken during the Belmont Stakes on June 9, 1973, and compiled by A. Linwood Holton, then governor of Virginia, who attended the race.
