Description
Shown here is the front page of the December 1890 edition of the monthly newspaper Anti-Liquor, a temperance publication produced in Danville. Its motto reads, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him through whom they come, a quotation from the Gospel According to Luke (17:1). The editor of the newspaper was the Reverend J. R. Moffett, and the associate editors were John E. Massey of Albemarle County, and Colonel J. R. Miller of Pulaski County.
