Description
This three-dimensional digital animation accurately depicts the Anatomical Theatre, a building that once stood on the grounds of the University of Virginia. Designed by Thomas Jefferson and built in 1825-1826, the Anatomical Theatre was used for anatomy instruction and the storage of cadavers. The building was razed in 1939, the only Jefferson-designed structure torn down at the university. This animation was created as part of the Jeffersons University—Early Life Project, 1819-1870 (JUEL).
