Description
Join together with history experts and community leaders, led by Dr. Lauranett Lee, to honestly explore the evolution of the African American experience from the turn of the 20th century to today. Bring opinions and ideas regarding historical and modern-day representations of African American democracy, diversity and opportunity, especially in relation to the Maymont Mansion exhibition that interprets the work and home lives of the African American staff at Maymont, 1893-1925. The program will begin with a poignant living history portrayal of Frances Walker who worked as the head cook at Maymont.
