Description
A one-day conference to explore and clarify the nature of the study of religion in public school humanities curricula. The morning session featured addresses by two scholars in religion, and the afternoon program consisted of a panel discussion followed by questions and comments from the audience. Although the project directors were pleased with the cross-section of participants, they were disappointed that there were not more in attendance and felt that the speakers should have probed more deeply the educational rationale for the study of religion.
