“Approximate Eden is organized around three courtyard gardens located between an orchard and place to shelter, each containing 1:1 scaled references. One includes a passageway through the paper combining the internal space of the garden with our immediate surroundings. Inspiration begins with the moon, is held under shelter and nurtured within the gardens. An overall réseau provides a reference for measuring scale, uncovers any distortions and helps us understand the relationship between the physical patterning of place and human sustenance. References to architectural and horticultural history are recombined, contributing form to approximate Eden.”
