Larissa Smith Fergeson, a history professor at Longwood University in Farmville and the universitys liaison to the Robert Russa Moton Museum, interviews Charles Taylor, whose education was interrupted by the policy known as Massive Resistance. Taylor, then a high school student in Prince Edward County, was not permitted to return to school in the autumn of 1959 when thecounty government closed its public schools rather than desegregate them. Taylor earned his high school diploma at Kittrell College in North Carolina.
