Description
Former President Woodrow Wilson waves his top hat to the assembled crowd during the Armistice Day procession on November 11, 1921, part of ceremonies surrounding the burial at Arlington National Cemetery of an unknown soldier killed during World War I. Seated next to the former president, and obscured by his hat, is his second wife, Edith Bolling Galt Wilson. On November 11, 1918, the Allies of World War I and Germany signed an armistice ending hostilities between them.
